A brand new hybrid that we aren't sure exactly how it will turn out! If we had to guess, expansum is going to ground out some of the Melana Davison parent flowers and likely lighten it for a creamy background with spots as a result. Each one will be different!
Catasetum go dormant in the winter months (dropping their leaves), requiring little to no water when they are dormant. When they start to drop leaves, leaves will yellow and often develop spots as they resorb any nutrients back to the bulb - THIS IS NORMAL! DON'T PANIC!!
During the growth season, they need to be fed and watered liberally to build good psuedobulbs. While tolerating low light, best blooms come with medium to medium-high light where leaves are a bright granny smith apple green.
